What's In a Name?
“What's in a name?” asked William Shakespeare so many years ago. At Good Samaritan Flanagan, everything is in the name!
In 1968, the founders, who had ties to local Lutheran churches, recalled the parable of the Good Samaritan Flanagan in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 10. The inspiration to name their community came from the simple story of a man who had been assaulted by robbers and left for dead. Others passed him by, but a Samaritan went to his aid, bandaged his wounds and took care of all his needs.
That indeed was the mission of Good Samaritan Flanagan at its founding and now continues as a complete retirement community offering:

November 2, 2008 was a cold day, but there was plenty of warmth in the Rainbow Room at Good Samaritan Flanagan. It was a day to celebrate!
